On March 31, 2026, the Hiroshima University Library Digital Humanities Promotion Project was launched through a collaboration between the School of Letters and the Hiroshima University Library.
At the Hiroshima University Library Digital Archive, rare and valuable materials held by the Library are being digitized and made available online so that people around the world can access them.
Through the Open Access (OA) Acceleration Program in FY2024, a large number of such valuable materials have been digitized. How to disseminate these outcomes in research, education, and society has become an important issue.
In light of this background, this project was established to enable the School of Letters and the Library to work together in concretely examining and implementing the effective use of digitized rare materials. The project’s nickname is “Deji-gura.”
Looking ahead, while also considering the future direction of the digital archive as a whole, the project aims to focus on digital exhibitions as its primary mode of outreach in FY2026.
