International Symposium on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

The School of Applied Biological Science organized the International Symposium on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on September 27th, which was supported by the Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life, as part of the International Summer School 2019.

In this symposium, through 8 sessions covering environment ~ biological diversity ~ bio-resource production ~ food sciences, a total of 7 researchers from 6 partner universities in Asia as well as a researcher of Hiroshima University delivered their research outcomes.

The presenters discussed how we could elaborate comprehensive solutions or breakthroughs to help achieve the UN’s SDGs, to pursue a sustainable and peaceful world through our researches, and about 95 participants composed of students and university staffs enjoyed the discussion on this important issue.

In addition, poster presentations were also given by 13 students based on their attendance at international conferences supported by the Graduate School.
