【Doctoral Course】General Selection/Special Selection for Working Citizens/Special Selection for International Students

*Please note that with the introduction of online application system, we have not distributed the application guidebook and application document booklet since 2020.

The exemption of foreign languages will be changed from the entrance examination to be held on or after January 1, 2023. (updated on May 19, 2021)

The following changes have been made to the list of applicants who will be exempted from the foreign languages (evaluation based on the results of written examinations or language examinations) in the Doctoral course entrance examinations for the Psychology Program, Educational Design for Teacher Educators Program, Educational Studies Program, and Teaching Japanese as a Second Language Program to be held on or after January 1, 2023.

Before the change

 

Those who fall under any of the following 1 to 4

  1. Applicants who have been admitted to the Graduate School of Education [Master's Course] of Hiroshima University through the General Selection or the Special Selection for International Students and have obtained a Master's degree.
  2. Applicants who have been admitted to the Graduate School of Education [Professional Degree Course] of Hiroshima University through the General Selection and have obtained a Professional degree.
  3. Applicants who have been admitted to the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences [Master's Course (Psychology Program, Educational Design for Teacher Educators Program, Educational Studies Program, Teaching Japanese as a Second Language Program)] of Hiroshima University through the General Selection or the Special Selection for International Students and have obtained a Master's degree.
  4. Applicants who have been admitted to the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences [Professional Degree Course (Professional Development Program for Teachers and School Leaders)] of Hiroshima University through the General Selection and have obtained a Professional degree.

After the change

 

Those who fall under any of the following 1 to 4

  1. Applicants who have been admitted to the Master's Course of the Graduate School of Education of Hiroshima University through the General Selection or the Special Selection for International Students, are expected to obtain a Master's degree, and are applying for admission in the month following the month in which they expect to complete their studies.
  2. Applicants who have been admitted to the Graduate School of Education (Professional Degree Course) of Hiroshima University through the General Selection, are expected to obtain a Professional degree, and are applying for admission in the month following the month in which they expect to complete their studies.
  3. Applicants who have been admitted to the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences [Master's Course (Psychology Program, Educational Design for Teacher Educators Program, Educational Studies Program, Teaching Japanese as a Second Language Program)] of Hiroshima University through the General Selection or the Special Selection for International Students, are expected to obtain a Master's degree, and are applying for admission in the month following the month in which they expect to complete their studies.
  4. Applicants who have been admitted to the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences [Professional Degree Course (Professional Development Program for Teachers and School Leaders)] of Hiroshima University through the General Selection, are expected to obtain a Professional degree, and are applying for admission in the month following the month in which they expect to complete their studies.

Should you wish to peruse past questions, please come to the Student Support Office (Graduate School Coordinator), bringing identification (e.g. your student identification card) with you.

Past questions may be perused freely between 9:00 and 16:30 Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays, the mid-August holiday, and December 29 – January 3).

● Past questions for doctoral degree program entrance examinations may also be perused at Hiroshima University’s Central Library.
