A student from the Joint International Master’s Programme in Sustainable Development has received financial support from the Japan Climate Systems Corporation through an Endowed Fund Scholarship.

Hiroshima University (HU) established an endowed fund within the Hiroshima University Foundation to provide scholarships for international students and offer assistance to Japanese students studying abroad.

On November 10, 2020, we invited the Japan Climate Systems Corporation to exchange opinions with Ms. Newell in the Hiroshima University Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Ms. Newell was selected as a recipient of this program.

Since October of this year, Ms. Newell has been studying at HU as a student in the Joint International Master’s Programme in Sustainable Development (Hiroshima University – University of Graz), which was established as the first Joint Degree Program for HU. Ms. Newell intends to pursue Sustainability Studies at HU and the University of Graz in Austria for two years, until September 2022.

The Japan Climate Systems Corporation expressed the hope that the community will be revitalized through the education of students by means of international programs, and we presented commemorative gifts to the corporation.

By means of the Hiroshima University Foundation, Hiroshima University will continue to contribute to the betterment of society by promoting the enrichment of education and research.
