On November 29, 2023, a hybrid workshop was held, with HIRAKU-Global Consortium Mentor Dr. HARAYAMA Yuko instructing the workshop.
Dr. HARAYAMA, based upon her own experiences as a researcher, presented upon the intellectual ventures thought process (i.e., the viewpoints to take, how to collect information, how to act, etc.) that researchers should possess in order to take their current research and educational activities one step further. At the conclusion of the presentation, a question and answer session was held, and many questions were asked from not only the in-person participants but also from the online participants, which led to lively discussions being held.

After the seminar and subsequent lunch with Dr. HARAYAMA and the in-person participants, the research exchange session was held. Within this session, Associate Professor IDETA, from the 2nd Cohort of HGRs, introduced the Hiroshima University Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (HiSOR), and the role and applications of synchrotron radiation.
In the second half of the session, the in-person participants toured the HiSOR facility in VR using VR goggles.

As a result of the success of this workshop, the Program is planning to hold similar events with the HGRs in the future.
