 Principles

The Hiroshima University Library aims to support education and research as a fundamental organization that embodies the university's founding spirit and philosophy. Its mission is to collect, organize, and preserve academic information resources, including electronic materials like books and journals, and to provide these resources to students and faculty. 

Additionally, by disseminating the academic information generated at the university both domestically and internationally, the library contributes to the advancement of education and research at Hiroshima University. Through this, it also supports the progress of academic research and the promotion of culture in local and global communities.

Goals

  1. Build a user-friendly library that is easy to use.
  2. Create a library that serves the community well.
  3. Strengthen our ability to collect academic information.
  4. Develop a hybrid library that combines traditional paper materials with digital resources like electronic journals.
  5. Provide a comfortable and spacious learning environment for students' independent study.
  6. Enhance and strengthen electronic library functions.
  7. Serve as a portal to share research results created within the institution.
