Information of Departmemt
The Department of Blood Purification performs replacement therapy for failing organs or the treatment of intractable diseases, mainly using hemodialysis procedure, and also techniques of blood purification therapies such as filtration, adsorption and plasma exchange. These operations are indicated in various diseases such as systemic erythematodes and other connective tissue disorders, vasculitis, neuromuscular disease, refractory nephrotic syndrome, refractory cutaneous disease, ulcerative colitis, and thrombocytopenia purpura, in addition to renal failure and hepatic failure. Blood purification therapies are required not only as a treatment to improve patients’ conditions directly, but also as a treatment necessary for desensitization therapy prior to transplantation. We proceed with the treatment of these diseases in collaboration with other divisions.
