Electronic journals and e-books offer various advantages, such as immediate access upon publication, easy search functionality, links to related information, and the ability to use them without visiting the library. Usage Guidelines
Prohibition of Mass Downloads
When using electronic journals, please download only the articles you need. Downloading large numbers of articles, either manually or using software, is a violation of our contract. Additionally, please disable any web browser extensions that automatically download all linked content, as this may be considered mechanical downloading. Other important points to note are as follows:
- Please refrain from using software or browser extensions for automatic file downloads, regardless of the number of files.
- Do not download articles you might potentially read in the future. (e.g., downloading all articles from a specific journal issue)
- Even if you're not "saving" files, manual viewing and printing are considered "downloads". Please avoid printing multiple articles at once for later reading. (e.g., printing all articles from a specific journal issue)
- When viewing PDF files, please click only once (single-click). The number of clicks may be counted as the number of downloads.
Prohibition of reproduction, distribution, and modification
It is strictly prohibited to reproduce, distribute, transmit, or sell downloaded articles to others, or to convert them into any other format or medium, or modify their content for use without the copyright holder's consent, as these actions infringe on copyright and intellectual property rights.
Failure to comply with these guidelines constitutes a contract violation and may result in the publisher suspending electronic journal access for the entire Hiroshima University.
To ensure that Hiroshima University students and staff can always comfortably use electronic journals, please adhere to the above guidelines.
