The Center for Academic Practice and Resources held its first "Freshman! Get-together (1th)" event on April 24, 2024, at the Student Plaza 1F.
This event aims to provide a platform where participants can freely share their learning and daily life concerns, fostering new connections across affiliations, academic years, and nationalities. Such events are held three times a year.
This event held at the first time of the 2024 academic year, targeted first year undergraduate students and graduate school students. Sixteen students from various disciplines and academic years participated, including graduate students and research students from Graduate School Humanities and Social Sciences, Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life, Undergraduate students from School of Education, School of Science, School of Engineering, and School of Applied Biological Science. During the event, student participants and several student staff formed four groups, engaging in discussions ranging from self-introductions to daily student life and recommendations for spots around the university area, leading to lively conversations.
In the post-event surveys, responses such as "I was able to talk to students from different faculties" and "I interacted with people of various nationalities" were received, indicating that the event provided a good opportunity to expand social circles.
The next event is scheduled for June, with a dedicated English conversation group to accommodate those who are not fluent in Japanese. The student staff at the Center for Academic Practice and Resources looks forward to meeting everyone again.
