The Center for Academic Practice and Resources held its first TA Seminar for the 2024 academic year

The Center for Academic Practice and Resources held its first TA Seminar for the 2024 academic year, "TA Exchange Meeting," on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, on the first floor of the Student Plaza. The main goals of this event were to introduce the “Hirodai TA” system and help participants to create a network with students who have TA experiences. A total of 15 graduate students from Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, and Graduate School of Innovation and Practice for Smart Society participated in this event.
First, an introduction to the “Hirodai TA” system was provided, followed by five student staff members sharing their TA experiences. Although TA experiences vary greatly depending on the field and program, there were many stories about how they obtained TA positions and the challenges they faced while working. Finally, questions from a pre-event survey were answered, and the “TA Exchange Meeting” concluded.
Post-event survey responses included comments such as, "It was interesting to learn about TA experiences in various fields," "I learned that many TA jobs are directly provided by professors," and "It was good to gain basic knowledge of the TA system." These responses suggest that the seminar largely achieved its goals.
The next TA seminar is planned for July. It will cover different topics from this time, so please join us. All the student staff at the Center for Academic Practice and Resources are looking forward to seeing you.
