On October 31, 2024, the Center for Academic Practice and Resources hosted the third “HU Students’ Meeting" event on the 1st floor of the Student Plaza. HU Students’ Meeting is a quarterly event designed to offer students a relaxed environment to discuss various academic and personal topics, fostering connections across different majors, academic years, and nationalities.
This third session was specially designed for international students who recently enrolled in our university. A total of 16 participants attended, 15 of whom were international students. Student participants are from various departments, 4 students from the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, 8 from the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, 2 from the Graduate School of Integrated Life Sciences, and 2 from the Graduate School of Innovation and Practice for Smart Society.
Participants formed four groups with support from student staff at this center, engaging in warm, friendly interactions. The event began with individual introductions, followed by discussions on their research and life in Hiroshima, sparking lively exchanges on diverse topics.
Feedback from participants was highly positive, with students saying they “connected with people from various countries,” “made new friendships,” and “gained helpful insights on life in Hiroshima.” Many also expressed interest in more opportunities like this, making the event a meaningful experience.
