We held the 1st TA seminar "Education and Artifical Intelligence" for AY2025!

The Center for Academic Practice and Resources held the 1st TA seminar of the 2025 academic year on May 29th at the Student Plaza of Higashi-Hiroshima campus. The theme of this TA seminar was “Education and Artificial Intelligence”, aiming to discuss artificial intelligence applications in educational settings among participants.

On the day of the event, a total of 19 participants attended from various faculties and graduate schools, including 9 undergraduate students (Faculty of Letters, Education, and Science), 9 graduate students (Graduate Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences, Advanced Science and Engineering, and Integrated Sciences for Life), and 1 staff member.

In this seminar, a lecture related to “Education and Artificial Intelligence” was delivered by students staff from the center, and group discussion was held on topics such as “What kinds of generative AI have you used so far?” and “Let’s experience how generative AI actually works”. In the group discussion, many conversations took place about utilizeation of generative AI in learning environments, as well as the mechanism of generative AI. The seminar concluded with a Q&A session.

According to the post-event survey, there were comments such as “It was a good opportunity to learn about how generative AI works” and “I was surprised to find out the connection between mathematics and generative AI.” On the other hand, some feedback pointed out that “There was little contents of education.” This made it clear that future TA seminars on similar topics need to focus more specifically on education.

The next TA seminar is scheduled to be held in July and will be conducted in English. Details will be announced on the website and through Momiji. All staff members of the Center for Academic Practice and Resources look forward to meeting you.
