This event aimed to bring together undergraduate and graduate students interested in education and generative AI, providing an opportunity to connect and engage in discussions across faculties and fields about the relationship between generative AI and student life. A total of 15 participants attended (9 in person and 6 online), representing the School of Economics, School of Engineering, School of Informatics and Data Science, Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, and Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life and Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences.
In the first half of the seminar, student staff delivered presentations introducing examples and policies related to the use of generative AI from three perspectives: government, universities, and industry. These topics were discussed in connection with student life, particularly with learning. Following this, participants were divided into in-person and online groups to work on a case study based on a hypothetical laboratory scenario. Active discussions took place regarding key considerations and potential risks in the use of generative AI. Toward the end of the event, participants exchanged ideas in a friendly atmosphere, sharing examples and experiences of using generative AI in their own student lives, especially in relation to daily coursework and research activities.
In the post-event survey, participants shared comments such as, “It made me reconsider how I engage with AI,” “I enjoyed working on a mock assignment as a group,” and “It encouraged me to think critically about the pros and cons of AI.” The feedback we received will be used to improve the planning and management of future TA seminars.
The next TA Seminar is scheduled for July 2026. Further details will be announced on our website and Momiji. We will continue to plan events that provide meaningful learning opportunities for participants. All the student staff at the Center for Academic Practice and Resources look forward to seeing you again.
Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in this event.
