We held the 2nd “HU Students' Get together” for AY2026!

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the Center for Academic Practice and Resources held the second Hirodai Talk Share “HU Student! Get together” on the 1F of the Student Plaza. The Hirodai Talk Share is an event planned and organized by the Center’s student staff three times a year. The purpose of this event is to help students connect with each other across different affiliations and grades by talking about university life and other topics.

This event was open to all students, and a total of 21 participants attended from the School of Integrated Arts and Sciences, the School of Education, the School of Law, the School of Engineering, the School of Applied Biological Science, the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, the Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life, and the Graduate School of Innovation and Practice for Smart Society. During the event, student staff from our center joined with the participants, who split into English and Japanese language groups and deepened their friendships in a lively atmosphere. Participants chose their preferred group, allowing international and Japanese students to enjoy conversations that transcended language and departmental boundaries. The “self-introduction game where you don’t let the other person remember your introduction,” used as an icebreaker, generated a lot of excitement. In the “finding common ground” game, lively exchanges took place as participants discussed their hometowns, life in Hiroshima, and campus life.

We received numerous positive comments from participants, such as “I was able to communicate with many students through the conversations at the event” and “It was great to have so many conversations in English.” We also received feedback such as, “If we had more time, we could have had deeper conversations.” We will incorporate the feedback we received to ensure future events are even more meaningful.

The next Hirodai Talk Share is scheduled for October. More details will be announced on our website and on Momiji. The entire student staff looks forward to seeing you again.
