Civil and Environmental Engineering

Civil and Environmental Engineering Program provides excellent education and conducts high-quality research in water, environmental, geotechnical, and structural and transportation engineering fields.

Education and research in this department are concerned with creation of safe, comfortable and sustainable social systems. Civil and Environmental Engineering department is composed of seven research fields and divided into two main divisions of Structural Engineering and Environmental Engineering.

Lectures in English are given by both Japanese and foreign professors at the Civil and Environmental Engineering Program.

Civil and Environmental Engineering Program has established international ties with seven other international universities. This global cooperation is focused on stimulating young researchers and students from all over the world. As a result, the International Conference on Civil and Environmental Engineering has been held annually at the Hiroshima University.
 

Civil and Environmental Engineering Program is performing cutting-edge research in structural and environmental engineering fields to enhance and maintain infrastructures along with minimizing the effects of natural disasters.
