Postgraduate Programs

Master's Program

A Master of Agriculture or Master of Science degree is conferred on students who have been enrolled in the master's program for a prescribed number of years, received instruction in research, obtained the required number of credits for their course work, and passed the screening of their master's thesis and final examinations conducted by the Graduate School. Students who complete the master's program are expected to have acquired a broad body of specialized knowledge, demonstrated research expertise, and a specialist's ethics in the areas of specialization listed below; and the ability to write academic papers and speak publicly so as to effectively present their research results at domestic and international scientific meetings.

Doctoral Program

A Doctor of Agriculture or Doctor of Philosophy degree is conferred on students who have been enrolled in the doctoral program for a prescribed number of years, received instruction in research, and passed the screening of their doctoral dissertation and final examinations conducted by the Graduate School. The students who complete the doctoral program are expected to have acquired a broad body of specialized knowledge and research expertise that is required to autonomously conduct research in the areas of specialization listed below; the ability to compile their research results on the basis of their accurate understanding of problems and scientific problem-solving methods in their areas of specialization, logical thinking, and highly developed communication skills; and the ability to write academic papers and speak publicly so as to effectively present their research results as an autonomous researcher or highly advanced specialist at domestic and international scientific meetings or in domestic or international scientific journals.

1) Mechanisms of phenomena of life in the areas of food, the environment, and applied life sciences; advanced utilization of bioresources and functions
2) Local and global food and environmental issues, environmentally harmonious sustainable biological production
