2016 April Orientation for Newly Arrived International Students

At Hiroshima University there are 1,284 international students enrolled (as of 1/11/2015), and every April and October new international students enter the university. Orientations are held each April and October by the International Center.

The 2016 April orientation for newly arrived international students was held for those who matriculated into the university on April 6th (Wed.) at the Higashi-Hiroshima campus. 112 out of 166 new international students took part in the orientation and were given vital information about life as a Hiroshima University student in Japanese, Chinese and English. (Information included how to receive consultation regarding academic, life, and health related issues; how to complete insurance, visa, and scholarship form processes; and how to take part in international exchange activities, as well as information about the Harassment Consultation Office, the Global Career Design Center; and the Library.)

In order to help international students ease into their new lives, Hiroshima University has established an international student support network that goes beyond the academic faculties and their affiliated framework, and offers support to international students in their daily lives.
