On October 4, 2017, Hiroshima University International Center held a Joint Opening Ceremony for the International Student Project in the reception hall on the 2nd floor of the Faculty Club. There were 6 students in the Japanese Preparation Course from the Science and Engineering Faculty, 13 in the Intensive Japanese Training Course and 5 in the Japanese Language and Culture Studies Program in attendance at the ceremony.

Dr. Yasushi Maruyama, the Director of International Center delivered a welcome address. A total of 24 students from 11 different countries will pursue Japanese language and Culture studies for half a year or a year.
