2018 October Orientation for Newly Arrived International Students

In Hiroshima University (HU), there are 1,660 international students enrolled (as of May 1st, 2018) and new international students enter the university every April and October. Orientations are held for them each April and October.

This time as always, on October 11th on Higashi-Hiroshima Campus and on October 16th on the Kasumi Campus, the 2018 October Orientation for Newly Arrived International Students was held for those international students who entered the university in October. 471 out of 666 newcomers took part in the orientation and were given vital information about life as an HU student in Japanese, Chinese and English. (Information included scholastic and life consultation; consultation for when they are distressed, injured or ill; insurance, visa and scholarship; international exchange activities; Harassment Consultation Office; Global Career Design Center, and the libraries.)

In order to help international students ease into their new lives, HU has established an international student support network that goes beyond the academic faculties and their affiliated framework, and offers support to international students in their daily lives.
