The 2019 October orientation for newly arrived international students was held on October 10th at the Higashi-Hiroshima campus and October 18th at the Kasumi campus. 470 out of 662 new international students took part in the orientation held in Japanese, Chinese and English and were given vital information about life as an HU student (Information included how to receive consultation on academic, daily life, and health related issues; how to complete insurance, visa, and scholarship form processes; and how to take part in international exchange activities, as well as information about the Harassment Consultation Office, the Global Career Design Center, and the libraries).

In order to help international students ease into their new lives, HU has established an international student support network that goes beyond the academic faculties and their affiliated framework, and offers support to international students in their daily lives.
