On January 21, 2022, HUSA (Hiroshima University Study Abroad Program) Intern students (from Thailand and China), taking the “Glocal Internship” held online international exchange with students of Kurahashi Junior High School in Kure City. Intern students from Thailand and China introduced their cultures, gave quizzes on their countries, and junior high school students gave a quiz on Japan. Energy and activism of 24 students of 1st and 2nd year in junior high school who participated in the exchange was inspiring.

HUSA Program OB students from USA also attended the exchange from the USA and Japan, and city assembly member and high school teachers in Hiro High School in Hiroshima Prefecture joined the session. With Dr. Tsunematsu presiding over the international exchange, we had a very interactive and exciting session with participants being connected across the globe. This international experiential learning opportunity will be the opportunity to strengthen the tie between international students and local people.
