International Exchange Students Attended “Intercultural Communication” Class at Nisshokan High School

On March 16, 2022, international exchange students (Finland, Poland, Thailand, and Mexico) attended the “Intercultural Communication” class (Dr. Naomi Tsunematsu, Morito Institute of Global Higher Education) held at Nisshokan High School. International students currently residing overseas attended the class from overseas online. Following the Omotenashi International Exchange Session held last November, it became a very precious intercultural session for both high school students and exchange students. Mr. Kristian Koronen from Finland, who visited Nisshokan High School and participated in the Home Stay program in 2019 enjoyed the reunion with the high school.

In two sessions for the 1st year high school students, students shared the study abroad experience of Finnish student who studied at Hiroshima University and various views on cultural differences. This intercultural session became a very stimulating experience for high school students, who have developed their challenging spirit, “I want to study abroad and challenge myself in speaking English.” We will continue to develop international education that can connect high school students with international students from global perspectives.
