【Education】
Educational content in obstetrics and gynecology is intended to impart an understanding of topics including pregnant and parturient women and the pathology, diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases through lectures.
There is a wide range of content to be learned, focusing on the four areas of perinatal period, gynecologic oncology, reproductive and endocrine, and female health care. Obstetrics imparts correct knowledge particularly regarding pregnancy and childbirth, which are major events in women’s lives, and teaches about anomalies during pregnancy and labor. Gynecology teaches about topics including anatomy, the endocrine environment, and neoplastic lesions.
In clinical training, medical students will consider interviews with pregnant women and patients with gynecological diseases and necessary medical examinations through experiencing ward medical treatment, outpatient treatment, and ward conferences. Based on the results, they can learn concretely the process of diagnosing the disease and deciding the treatment method and the appropriate explanation. They can participate in surgery to understand the anatomy in the pelvis and learn the basic procedures of surgery.
