The Center for Academic Practice and Resources held the 3rd TA Seminar “TA Exchange Meeting”

On 13 November 2025, the Center for Academic Practice and Resources held the 3rd TA Seminar of the 2025 academic year on the 1st floor of the Student Plaza. This seminar aimed to promote understanding of the Hirodai TA System and the Hirodai TA Matching Platform, as well as encouraging interaction among students interested in TAs. The seminar was conducted mainly in English, with a total of 29 participants attending from the Graduate Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences, Advanced Science and Engineering, Integrated Sciences for Life, Biomedical and Health Sciences, and the Graduate School of Innovation and Practice for Smart Society.

The first half of the session consisted of an introduction to the Hirodai TA System and the Hirodai TA Matching Platform. In the second half, participants were divided into six groups for group discussions. During these discussions, participants asked more detailed questions about the TA system and the Matching Platform, exchanged opinions and listened to the specific experiences of TA-experienced students, including the student staff of the Center.

The seminar was followed by a questionnaire, and we received comments such as “I could obtain all the basic information I needed about the TA and TF systems”, “The explanations were easy to understand, and the group discussions were meaningful”, and “I now have a better understanding of TA responsibilities and application procedures.” Based on this feedback, we believe that we largely achieved the goals we set for this seminar. Participants also suggested themes for future TA seminars, such as “how English-speaking students can obtain TA positions” and “qualities expected of TAs, the learning and benefits gained through TA activities, and ethical considerations and points to be careful about.” We will take these comments into account when planning and organizing future TA seminars.

The next TA Seminar is scheduled to be held in January 2026. Although the contents are still under discussion, we will continue to work to make it a meaningful opportunity for learning and exchanging for all participants. The student staff at the Centre for Academic Practice and Resources look forward to meeting you.
