題目: Intercalation under High Pressure in Nanocages and Nanotubes

要旨:

Nanointercalation offers opportunities for exploring atomic interactions driving new phenomena or novel applications. Host-guest interactions at the nanoscale can be continuously tuned through the application of pressure which hence constitutes an extremely valuable tool for the understanding of the underlying phenomena.



I will consider the above point of view to present the results on the research activity of our group on nanocage materials, essentially clathrates as well as in carbon nanotubes. The pressure domain explored goes up to approximately 40 GPa. At that pressure both type of systems undergo phase transformations of different types including amorphization or isostructural transformations. Our experience on the opportunities of extreme conditions of pressure and temperature for the realization of new nanostructured materials will be also presented.
