I have been conducting research in the following areas.

Bologna Process (Major Reform of Higher Education in Europe), especially the actual impact of ECTS, 2 cycle system, and Learning outcomes on European higher education institutions
Bologna Process in Italy and Germany [Research funding granted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology- Japan, 2009-2011]
I have been actively promoting the UCTS (UMAP Credit Transfer Schema), which is similar to ECTS, in Asian region under the program called UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific). This is to promote exchange of students among universities in Asia and the Pacific.
