The Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences encourages applications from the following types of individuals :

1. Students with the desire and basic skills to experience or create new academic areas across disciplinary boundaries such as the humanities and sciences, as well as within their specialties.
2. Students with the desire, and basic knowledge and skills to discover their theme of study by squarely facing the complexities of society and nature, and to reveal paths to solutions based on a thorough understanding of these issues.
3. Students who haνe a good understanding of others irrespective of differences in field of specialty, region, or country, and who have the desire and basic skills to express their ideas effectively.
