2024年2月22日、2023年度年次大会をオンライン(Zoom)で開催しました。全国各地より80人が参加しました。

冒頭に菅田 淳 広島大学 理事・副学長 (研究担当)より、開会挨拶が述べられ、その後、相田 美砂子 広島大学 特命教授よりHIRAKU-Global プログラム概要の説明がなされました。

その後、HIRAKU-Globalプログラムに採択され3年目を迎えた8名の第二期HIRAKU-Global教員より、世界で活躍する研究者を目指してさらに飛躍するための、今後の計画や自身が進めようとしている研究内容についての発表が行われました。

発表後は、講師のIrina FILONOVA氏より「Science Communication」をテーマにセミナーが開催されました。約1時間のセミナーでは、複雑な科学概念を、多くの聴衆に効果的に伝え、関心と影響を最大限与えるための必要なスキル開発に焦点を当てた話がなされました。

第一期から第四期までのHIRAKU-Global教員や他大学の研究者等が参加し、各教員発表後やセミナー後の質疑応答では活発なディスカッションが行われました。

最後に、メンターである公益財団法人木原記念横浜生命科学振興財団 常務理事 鈴木 榮一郎氏より閉会挨拶が行われ、HIRAKU-Global教員へ激励のメッセージが届けられました。

開催後のアンケートでは、参加したHG教員より以下の回答が寄せられました(一部抜粋)。

• I felt that the way Dr. Filonova communicated with us itself was the practice of good Scientific Communication. It was very clear with easy examples. 
• I learned a lot for thinking of and proceeding of research by listening to the presentations by the researchers in other fields. This gave me an opportunity to think about what points to advance for next year's annual meeting.
• I could understand why science communication is important and the way to do it effectively.
• It was great to hear the other HGR member's achievements. That inspire and motivate me a lot.
• The comment we put was immediately reflected on Dr. Filonova's slide, which was amazing and really helpful to understand what everyone thought.
