「2023年度第2回総科カフェ・ How are cities contributing to achievement of the sustainable development goals (SDGs)?」を開催しました

2023年12月8日に「2023年度第2回総科カフェ・How are cities contributing to achievement of the sustainable development goals (SDGs)?」を開催しました。

The 2nd Souka Cafe for AY2023 was held.

The second Souka café symposium on the theme “How are cities contributing to the achievement of the sustainable development goals (SDGs)?” was held on December 8, 2023, in the large meeting room of MIRAI CREA. A total of 10 people participated, including faculty, staff, and students.
This symposium was proposed by GUAN Heng, a senior special auditing student from School of Integrated Arts and Sciences. The co-proposers of this symposium are YANG Shuwen and HOUR Chhengmuoy from Advanced Science and Engineering, and DING Shuaijie from the School of Informatics and Data Sciences. Professor KATANAYAGI supervised this symposium. 
This symposium focuses on SDG11 and its implementation in urban governance. Three proposers from China, Taiwan and Cambodia presented SDG11's characteristic local practices in the cities represented in their countries. In the subsequent discussion, participants engaged in a comparison of measures that cities of different sizes and economic levels are taking to advance SDG11 and subjective and objective factors affecting the advancement of SDG11 in the city were also analyzed.
Through this event, participants learned more about SDG11 and further explored the role of cities in advancing the SDGs.
