The Phoenix Workshop & Atelier is fully equipped with a wide variety of machinery and tools in order to help students foster independence and creativity through manufacturing. They are able to use our facility for their research, extracurricular activities, or simply for their own interests and discovering the joy of making things.
However, it is very important to keep in mind that there are many risks involved when using machines. Even skilled workers can be injured, sometimes fatally.
Your safety is our utmost priority. In order to prevent any risks, students must first take our Safety Training, which is held in Japanese. Students’ full understanding of the Training is just the first step. Then, they can use the facility under our staff’s supervision, where Japanese is a common language. For this reason, a level of Japanese enough to understand instructions is required.
For any questions or concerns on this matter, please consult with your supervisor or pay us a visit with someone who can speak Japanese from your laboratory. We would like to find a way to help you.
