Researching and Gathering Literature

This section provides guidance on how to search for and acquire materials such as books, journals, and academic papers. It covers everything from basic search methods for books and journals to accessing subject-specific information and resources.

Orientation and Guidance

We offer workshops on literature searching for student groups and orientations for new students. These sessions can be customized according to the specific needs of the participants.

Support for Writing Reports and Academic Papers

Graduate student tutors accept consultations regarding the planning and writing of academic documents such as reports in Japanese and English, seminar presentation materials, graduation theses, and master’s theses. Consultations are available in person or online. A service is also provided in which tutors offer comments on submitted drafts.

Language Learning Support

To support students’ language learning, the Global Learning Center on the third floor of the West Library offers various services, including language exchange events in English and Japanese, and access to English extensive reading materials.

Purchase Request

If required books are not available in the library, Hiroshima University students may apply for their purchase. There is an annual limit on the number of books that undergraduate and graduate students may request.

Event

The library hosts various workshops and events, such as “Book Bridges,” which promote dialogue through books, and language exchange events with international students.

Consultat with a Librarians

We provide individual consultations on how to search for literature, use databases and reference management tools, and write citations. Consultations are available at library counters, online (via Teams), or by email.
