HIRAKU-Global International Symposium
"Developing Researchers to Drive Globally Impactful Research"
Monday, January 19, 2026 1:00pm-4:45pm (JST)
TKP Garden City Premium, Hiroshimaeki Kitaguchi, Hiroshima, Japan
Whether to develop new technology, treat a disease, or even simply to further understand the basic principles of nature or human behavior, how to make a lasting, significant impact on society should be a goal of all researchers. But how can institutions, and society at-large, support the development of early-career researchers who can go on to accomplish such things? Given that modern research is now more international than before, HIRAKU-Global emphasizes the need for early-career researchers to expand their research activities internationally, supporting HIRAKU-Global Researchers in seeding and growing international collaborations and research networks. We hope to see these researchers mature into world-class researchers capable of producing globally impactful research.
As such, the HIRAKU-Global International Symposium will feature senior HIRAKU-Global Researchers and Alumni whose research has begun to directly impact society, with a focus on how they have been shaped by their international collaborations. The symposium will also highlight the experiences of more established world-renowned researchers who have had a major hand in developing researchers in Japan and abroad. We hope that HIRAKU-Global becomes the gold standard of how to support developing researchers, and look forward to sharing the great things that have been happening in the Chugoku-Shikoku region with the rest of the world!
