The School of Integrated Arts and Sciences was founded in 1974 (Showa 49), with the goal of cultivating the ‘integrated knowledge and thought’ needed in today’s society. It is a program unique in the entire country. Students work with our faculty, who specialize in a wide variety of areas, to create new fields unbound by traditional academic structure, and address the problems facing us in the next century. It has an excellent record of producing distinguished graduates and sending them into academia and the real world. Having celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014, the School looks to continue to make its mark.
