The School of Integrated Arts and Science’s fundamental characteristic is a cross-disciplinary, integrative, and creative approach to academic inquiry. In order to promote this sort of approach, we:

1.  Inspire and cultivate intellectual curiosity for interdisciplinary fields that span several academic specialties and new fields that go beyond the traditional structure where each field is separated and isolated from one another.
2.  Encourage intellectual activities aimed at creating new academic fields by applying thought and observation, original experimentation, as well as active and rich imagination
3.  Cherish the academic curiosity that students already display, and nurture self-reliant and independent individuals who can adapt to new challenges.
4.  While deepening sympathy for and understanding of other cultures, train proactive and energetic able people who can convincingly present their own opinions and take an active role in global society.
