Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing or Doctor of Philosophy in Health Science

1. A student must have acquired the ability to promote a new specialized research in health and medical welfare field, and an international perspective.
2. A student must have acquired the ability to send information regarding the advanced health and medical welfare socially and internationally, and the ability to play an active part.
3. A student must be able to practice and educate in the health and medical welfare field based on her/his advanced expertise and excellent research ability

1. The curriculum consists of lectures, advanced seminars, and advanced research.
2. Omnibus lecture subjects that enable to acquire foundation of health promotion research method required for health science and advanced medical care research and also broad expertise are established as Common Subject 1
3. Seminars on each specialized subject are made of more useful contents and better quality.

Based on the diploma policy and curriculum policy, Health Sciences Major is seeking for the following students:

1. Those who are willing to acquire expertise of health sciences and advanced research abilities
2. Those who are willing to become educators or researchers with solid competence in health sciences
3. Those who are willing to become professional instructors or administrators who can actively work in the fields of health,/ medical care / welfare

In order to confirm applicants’ expertise and language skill in the master’s level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, expertise, suitability for research, and motivation for research will be evaluated comprehensively by a written examination and an oral examination.

【Special Selection for Students with careers】
In order to confirm applicants’ expertise and language skill in the master’s level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, expertise, suitability for research, and motivation for research will be evaluated comprehensively by a written examination, an oral examination, and achievement.

【Special Selection for Senior Citizens】
In order to confirm applicants’ expertise skill in the master’s level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, expertise, suitability for research, and motivation for research will be evaluated comprehensively by a written examination (essay) and an oral examination.

【Special Selection for International Students】
In order to confirm applicants’ expertise and language skill in the master’s level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, expertise, suitability for research, and motivation for research will be evaluated comprehensively by an oral examination.

This course aims to train the following personnel:

1. Educators and researchers in nursing capable of developing new theories and practical methods for nursing science.
2. Educators and researchers in physical therapy and occupational therapy possessing  outstanding research skills with highly-specialized knowledge and capable of building a new paradigm.
3. Educators and researchers with high-level research competence and global view capable of promoting new specialized researches in healthcare / medical care and welfare.
