Diploma Policy

(Program of Medicine)
Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science or Doctor of Philosophy

  1. A student must have acquired the broad knowledge and advanced research ability, and the ability to play an active role interdisciplinary and internationally.
  2. A student must have acquired the ability to be responsible for development and application of advanced medical technology responding to the needs of the time.

(Program of Dental Sciences)
Doctor of Philosophy in Dental Science or Doctor of Philosophy

  1. A student must have acquired the ability to integrate/develop research in the dental field, and the ability to carry out the advanced dentistry basic research.
  2. A student must have acquired the ability to develop the advanced dentistry by applied research based on advanced dentistry basic research, and the ability to expand it widely from the community to the international society.

(Program of Pharmaceutical Sciences)
Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Science or Doctor of Philosophy

  1. A student must have acquired deep knowledge and high insight in pharmacy, and the ability to contribute to the development of medical pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in Japan through the education and research of pharmacy.
  2. A student must have acquired the ability to play an active role in the international society in the field of pharmaceutical research centered on medical care.

(Program of Radiation Biology and Medicine)
Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science or Doctor of Philosophy

A student must have acquired the ability to carry out the advanced systematic education and research from basic research regarding the radiation effect on human body to clinical radiology, and the ability to expand it widely from community to the international society.

Curriculum Policy

  1. The curriculum consists of lectures, advanced seminars, and advanced research.
  2. In order to enable to acquire foundation of ethics and broad expertise required for research in biomedical science, oral health sciences, medicinal sciences, and health science fields, omnibus lecture subjects are established as common subjects.

Based on the diploma policy and curriculum policy, Biomedical Sciences Major is seeking for the following students:

  1. Those who are willing to be engaged in basic and clinical advanced research in medicine, dentistry, and pharmaceutical science
  2. Those who are willing to acquire basic and clinical knowledge widely in life science or radiation biology and medicine, beyond the current frameworks of medicine, dentistry, and pharmaceutical science
  3. Those who are willing to be engaged in highly advanced medical treatment
  4.  Those who are willing to obtain high expertise and play an active role internationally in the fields of medicine, dentistry, and pharmaceutical science
  5.  Those who are willing to continue their career enhancement in a medical field and contribute to community health care as members of the society

2 Selection Policy
【General Selection】
In order to confirm applicants’ expertise and language skill in the undergraduate level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, an academic ability test (written examination and oral examination) will be conducted. Expertise, motivation for application, and motivation for research will be evaluated comprehensively.

【Special Selection for Students with careers】
In order to confirm applicants’ expertise and language skill in the undergraduate level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, an academic ability test (written examination and oral examination) will be conducted. Program of Medicine

This program is to cultivate the following personnel:

  • Educators・scholars with comprehensive knowledge and highly-specialized clinical competency on medicine who can take academic・international leadership roles.
  • Advanced medical professionals who can develop and apply the forefront of medical technologies in response to the demands of the times.

Program of Dental Sciences

This program is to cultivate the following personnel:

  • Those who can conduct more advanced basic dentistry led by clinical integration・development in dental medicine.
  • Those who can variously expand the applied clinical experiences from local community to international society after developing highly advanced dental treatment.

Program of Pharmaceutical Sciences

This program is to cultivate the following personnel:

  • Those who can make a contribution to development of clinical pharmacy and pharmacotherapy for Japan through pharmaceutical education・research with profound knowledge on pharmacy.
  • Those who can take international leaderships in pharmaceutical clinical fields focusing on medical care.

Program of Radiation Biology and Medicine

This program is to cultivate the following personnel:

  • Those who can conduct advanced and systematic education・research extending from basic research to clinical radiology concerning the effect of radiation on human body.
  • Those who can widely develop the acquired knowledge and technology from local community to international society.
