Doctor of Philosophy in Medicinal Science

1. A student must have acquired deep knowledge and high insight regarding medicinal science.
2. A student must have acquired the ability to contribute to a development of drug discovery science and life science in Japan through medicinal science education/research in the field of university education, drug discovery, or administration.
3. A student acquired the ability to carry out the applied research based on drug discovery science and life science with an international perspective. 

1. The curriculum consists of lectures, advanced seminars, and advanced research.
2. In order to acquire the abilities to contribute to develop drug discovery science and life science through the medicinal research/education, the students must take Advanced Lecture on Medicinal Science with the aim to deepen  expertise and scholarship.
3. In order to acquire the abilities to carry out the applied research based on drug discovery science and life science from an international perspective, the students must take omnibus subjects with the aim to deepen expertise and scholarship.

Based on the diploma policy and curriculum policy, Medicinal Sciences Major is seeking for the following students:

1. Those who are willing to acquire abilities to lead medicinal sciences research
2. Those who are willing to acquire abilities to promote education / research on drug discovery / life science of Japan in a leadership position
3. Those who are willing to play an active part internationally on new drug development

【General Selection】
In order to confirm applicants’ expertise and language skill in the master’s level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, an academic ability test (written examination and oral examination) will be conducted. Expertise, motivation for application, and motivation for research will be evaluated comprehensively.

【Special Selection for Students with careers】
In order to confirm applicants’ expertise and language skill in the master’s level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, an academic ability test (written examination and oral examination) will be conducted. Expertise, motivation for application, and motivation for research will be evaluated comprehensively.

【Special Selection for Senior Citizens】
In order to confirm applicants’ expertise in the master’s level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, an academic ability test (written examination and oral examination) will be conducted. Expertise, motivation for application, and motivation for research will be evaluated comprehensively.

【Special Selection for International Students】
In order to confirm applicants’ expertise and language skill in the master’s level and also to see the capability that is applicable to the curriculum policy of this major, an academic ability test (written examination and oral examination) will be conducted. Expertise, motivation for application, and motivation for research will be evaluated comprehensively.

This course aims to cultivate the following personnel:

• Those who can make a contribution to the development of pharmaceutical sciences and life sciences in Japan through education / research of medicinal sciences with extensive knowledge and deep insight on medicinal sciences.
• Those who can promote applied research based on pharmaceutical sciences and life sciences from the international view point.
