Research Topic
We can find various types of plants on Earth, but we still do not fully understand where and which species of plants grow and how they maintain diversity. I have been conducting research to answer these questions, focusing on plant taxonomy and ecology, primarily studying plants in tropical rainforests. My primary focus is on “epiphytes,” which are a group of plants that grow on trees and are important for maintaining diversity. Forests are crucial ecosystems for sustainable development, yet they are also facing serious threats of environmental destruction. I hope that my research can contribute to a better understanding and conservation of forests.

Message
For field surveys overseas and studies with a global perspective, it is important to acquire a broad knowledge base that transcends disciplinary boundaries and to develop communication skills. I believe that IGS provides a good environment for developing these abilities. I look forward to engaging in research that utilizes your diverse ideas, talents, and curiosity.
