■ Abstract:
This lecture explores what human rights mean beyond kindness or consideration for others.
Dr. Sanae Fujita examines how human rights became internationalized after the Second World War and how Japan has been viewed through United Nations human rights standards.
The lecture also addresses issues such as gender, poverty, labour rights, disability rights, and the media, while introducing examples from the United Kingdom.
