◆Apr. 1969
The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences with the class capacity of 40 students was established at the Faculty of Medicine.

◆Apr. 1970
Departments of Medicinal Chemistry, Physiological Chemistry, and Pharmacognocy were established at the Institute of  Pharmaceutical Sciences.

◆Apr. 1971
Departments of Hygienic Chemistry and Pharmacochemistry were established at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, making a total of 5 departments.

◆May  1972
Departments of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics were established at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, making a total of 7 departments.

◆Jun. 1974
Research Building and Lecture Building for School of Pharmaceutical Sciences were completed.

◆Apr. 1977
The Japanese name of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was  changed to reflect the reorganization into 5 departments: Department of Medicinal Chemistry, Department of Medicinal Chemistry of Natural Products,  Department of Analytical Chemistry, Department of Public Health Chemistry, and Department of Pharmacobiodynamics. The class capacity was 60 students.

◆Apr. 1978
Department of Pharmaceutics and Therapeutics was established at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, bringing the number of departments to 6.

◆Sep. 1979
The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Building was enlarged.

◆Apr. 1980
Experimental Station of Medicinal Plants was established.

◆Apr. 2002
Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine was closed following the establishment of Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. 5 subjects of Pharmaceutical Sciences were newly set up.

◆Apr. 2004
Hiroshima University was renamed Hiroshima University National University Corporation under the National University Corporation Law.

◆Apr. 2006
・Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine was abolished.
・The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established: 2 Institutes, Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (6-year course) with a total capacity of 38 students and Institute of Medicinal Sciences (4-year course) with a total capacity of 22 students.
・Experimental Station of Medicinal Plants was shifted to Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences from Faculty of Medicine.
・The Attached Medical Practitioner Education Development (medical and dental fields) was renamed Attached Medical Practitioner Education Development (affiliated with Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences) after the establishment of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

◆Apr. 2012
Attached Medical Practitioner Education Development (affiliated with Faculties of  Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences) was abolished and Center for Medical Education was set up.

◆Aug. 2019
The Ceremony for 50th Anniversary of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences was held.
