Natural Sciences Research Division

There are four courses in the Natural Sciences Research Division as described below.

Materials Sciences Life Sciences Mathematical and Information Sciences Natural Environmental Sciences

Materials Sciences:Understand, Utilize and Create Materials

The Courses in Materials Sciences provides the classes that offer a wide range of knowledge necessary for understanding of physical and chemical nature of materials and for the creation of functional and useful materials. In the classes, students can learn the mechanisms of how the characteristics of materials are determined from on the atomic and molecular levels to on their huge collective and macroscopic scale. The goal of this course is to enhance the ability to learn the advanced knowledge on the academic fields such as: the superconductivity, quantum informatics, soft matter, energy materials and so on.

Life Sciences:Quest for the mechanisms of life and brain functioning

Life science is one of the fastest growing fields, with great advances being made during the last several decades. Life science is an integrative science which requires basic knowledge of natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, etc.) and practical sciences (medical sciences, pharmacology, psychology, information technology). In this program, you can acquire a broad understanding of neuroscience, endocrinology, genetics, developmental biology, biochemistry, biophysics and organic chemistry. Armed with such basic knowledge, you will be ready to embark on the quest to fully understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms of life and brain functioning.
