Hiroshima University Writing Center is recognized as an International Standard Tutor Training Program provider

Hiroshima University Writing Center is proud to announce that in February 2021, our Tutor Training Program passed the International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) review by the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA). We are now a Level 1 provider of the international standard tutor training program.

ITTPC is the international standard for accreditation of tutor training programs by CRLA, and more than 1,000 programs around the world have received Level 1 accreditation. To receive this accreditation, a program must provide the necessary training, tutor evaluation and feedback, and contribute to the improvement of tutors’ abilities and skills.

At our Writing Center, 11 Japanese and international graduate student tutors provide Writing Tutorials to help students write clear and well-structured reports, graduation theses, master's theses, and other written assignments. All our tutors attend regular training programs to continuously improve their skills and abilities.

Hiroshima University Writing Center is the fourth institution and the first writing center in Japan to be accredited, following Meio University (2002), Future University Hakodate (2015), and Kanda University of International Studies (2020).

We will continue to implement the Tutor Training Program and are committed to further develop and improve our writing support services.
