In the USA, M. Nishikawa worked as a high school chemistry teacher, and after that, as protein biochemist at Hoffmann-La Roche, working in the early stages of AIDS research. After she was transferred to Nippon Roche, she worked as manager of the English train-ing program for researchers for a total of 10 years. After Nippon Roche, she worked at the research and development center of Schlumberger K.K., and also worked at the Med-ical Tribune, Inc. in Tokyo. She is now science editor and trainer for academic communi-cations at Editage (Cactus Communications)
