Research Topic
Why do people travel? My research focuses on tourism induced by popular culture, called “contents tourism.” Contents tourism is a travel behavior motivated fully or partially by elements of popular culture forms, including film, television dramas, manga, anime, and novels. I am examining why people are visiting popular culture related places, and how destinations obtain the authenticity by contents tourism.
