High school students from Philippines visited IGS

On June 13, students from a science high school in the Philippines visited Hiroshima University as part of the Sakura Science Program, organized by the Hiroshima International Center.

The students learned about the Department of Integrated Global Studies (IGS) in the School of Integrated Arts and Sciences. They took two classes by professors from IGS: Prof. Yamada in biology and Prof. Tanaka in physics.

After that, we, three IGS students with Filipino backgrounds and two IGS students who will be studying at a university in the Philippines this year, guided them around the campus. Filipino high school students looked excited at seeing the Hiroshima University study environment. They took countless numbers of photos with their friends and us.

Afterwards, the Filipino students had dinner with us, and even Professor Yamada joined us. We talked about our daily lives and what we are studying. IGS students who are going to study in the Philippines learned from the students about life tips and foods they cannot miss to eat in the Philippines.

This event is posted on the Instagram by Hiroshima International Center as well. Please visit the post from the link below.
