The Writing Center is pleased to announce the following online workshop...

Writing Center Five-Session Online Workshop
Developing Academic Reading and Writing Literacies: A Self-directed Learning Approach

Abstract
This online workshop aims to introduce a detailed-reading-based pedagogy for university students’ self-directed learning of academic literacies. This workshop emphasises the correlation between the reading and writing literacies and that students can develop academic writing skills through the mindful deconstruction of mentor texts in their research fields. Postgraduates are welcome to this workshop. Undergraduates who need to write course essays or thesis in academic English are also welcome. Faculties who are interested in this detailed-reading-based pedagogy are welcome. Participants are suggested to take commitment to attend the full five sessions; however, flexible/partial attendance is possible.
