Two IGS Students won a prize at the “Study in Hiroshima” Video Contest

In November 2021, Hiroshima Support Center for International Students (HiCIS) held a “Study in Hiroshima” video contest for foreign students living in Hiroshima. The theme of the contest was to promote study abroad in Hiroshima and attract foreigners interested in being students in Japan.
Third-year IGS students Ms. Pornphan Wajjwalku and Ms. Miriam Ilsa Arfani won prizes at the contest. Ms. Pornphan was awarded the first prize, and Ms. Miriam received an honorable mention.
Here are comments from them.

Pornphan Wajjwalku
I did not know much about Hiroshima before coming here, nor did I like this city when I first arrived. Nevertheless, the longer I have stayed, the more I have discovered the beauty of Hiroshima, and I just wanted to share that through my video. Being awarded the first prize in this contest is such a great honor for me, and it means that the message I want to convey has successfully reached the audience. Although this year might be my last year here at Hiroshima, I hope that I can continue my journey of discovering the ‘hidden gem’ of Hiroshima, record what I found in a video, and share it with many people again.

Ever since I entered Hiroshima University, I have been wanting to share my life as an international student in Hiroshima with social media like YouTube. However, I have never had enough confidence to do that. So when I heard about this contest, I finally got motivated to make a video and share it with people. Aside from getting an honorable mention, I am very grateful and happy that I received positive feedback from people. I am also surprised that many of my friends also asked me to make more videos. So, alongside writing my graduation thesis, I would like to dedicate my last year of university to helping people who want to study in Hiroshima by creating content on social media.
