IGS Student joined G7 summit as a volunteer staff and speech in front of Prime Minister of Japan

An IGS student joined the G7 Summit as a volunteer staff and gave a speech in front of the Prime Minister of Japan.

At the opening ceremony of the International Media Center (IMC), the base for coverage of the G7 Hiroshima Summit held in May, fourth-year IGS student Mr. Haruya Eda (second from the left in the photo) gave a speech as a representative of student volunteers in front of Prime Minister Kishida.

Here is the comment from Mr. Eda.

As a student volunteer representative at the Hiroshima G7 Summit, I was given the incredible
opportunity to speak in front of Prime Minister Kishida and share my and other student volunteers’
passion for the G7 Summit. It was truly an invaluable experience to be able to relay our eagerness
and enthusiasm, as well as our impressions of the event. G7 brought together people from all over
the world to learn more about how Japan is perceived, and how Japan relates to other countries in a
positive way. In our increasingly globalized world, these types of interactions are vital for creating a
more prosperous, conscientious, and connected world.

Furthermore, Mr. Eda’s speech was featured on the Prime Minister’s official YouTube account and on the official Twitter account of the Hiroshima Summit Preparation Council. Please take a look.
