The program aims to develop “human resources who will support the creation of science, technology, and innovation that will contribute to the realization of the future society (Society 5.0) that Japan aspires to. The selected doctoral students will receive a research grant (equivalent to living expenses), research expenses, and will also be provided with opportunities to study at overseas research institutions, acquire transferable skills, and various measures for career development and training.

In addition, HU SPRING, an emergent forum for students to interact and collaborate beyond their fields of expertise, will be established to provide a forum for discussion on approaches to solving social issues and realizing world peace.

Through this and other support programs, we will create an environment in which students can devote themselves to research and contribute to the creation of science, technology and innovation in Japan.
