On August 25th 2018, the delegation from HU including Executive and Vice President Toshiyuki Sato, Vice President Yasutoshi Teramoto, Prof. Li Junyang (Vice Director of the HU Beijing Research Center) and Prof. Yoshichika Honda (Vice Director of the HU International Center) visited Yanshan University (Qinhuangdao, China) where they attended the opening ceremony for Hiroshima University-Yanshan University Language and Culture Research Center. Vice President Zhang Fucheng from Yanshan University, Executive Vice President Huang Youyi from Translators Association of China and Library Director Zhang Ru Yi from Hebei University, also attended the ceremony.

HU and YU concluded an inter-university exchange agreement in September 2001 and both universities have deepen relations since then, including HU accepting students from YU for the Morito Higher Education Institute 3 +1 Program.

With the establishment of this center, it is hoped that the collaboration between the two universities will develop further.
